Symphoria® 3D for Premium and Advanced Sound System
Symphoria® 3D sound is the result of a strong cooperation between Audi, Fraunhofer Institute and Bang & Olufsen. It takes sound to the third dimension using innovative solutions, built on in-depth psycho-acoustic knowledge theories. Independent of source and music genre, it creates the perception of width, depth and even height of a sound image.
Vehicle Noise Compensation
Vehicle Noise Compensation (VNC) adjusts the standard volume control by measuring in-cabin background noise e.g. the engine/vehicle speed, fan settings or materials, and dynamically equalizing the audio signal. This allows for a similar loudness perception and an undisturbed music experience in all driving situations.
Visual Design
The visual design with elegantly shaped loudspeaker grilles and a precise hole pattern merges elegantly with the interior design of the Audi A8 and A8L. The acoustic performance thus maintains a clear and distinctive Bang & Olufsen identity.
Privacy
Selected loudspeakers in the Bang & Olufsen Advanced and Premium Sound System are enclosed within their own sturdy, sealed boxes, which means they are not actually part of the car's frame. This minimizes the effect of chassis vibration and external noise on the sound quality. The closed boxes increase privacy by keeping the sound inside the car.

Your personal concert hall with the 3D Advanced Sound System
The two automatically extending acoustic lenses on the dashboard ensure an improved sense of space and more authenticity. At the same time acoustic lens technology expands the area in front of the speaker where its sweet spot is located. The sound is distributed evenly over a radius of 180 degrees. The result: the feeling of a front row seat in one of the best concert halls in the world.
