Measures to continuously improve accessibility
Bang & Olufsen A/S has taken several measures to ensure that we keep improving the accessibility of our website. Among others we:
- appoint an accessibility officer
- assign accessibility targets and responsibilities
- include accessibility in our internal web development processes
- provide accessibility tools to assist designers, content managers and developers
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Bang & Olufsen website is partially conformant to WCAG 2.0 level AA.
Bang & Olufsen A/S works together with experienced accessibility consultants to take the steps necessary to achieve substantial conformance with WCAG. Bang & Olufsen uses the world’s leading website governance software company, Siteimprove, to provide various accessibility assessment services that Bang & Olufsen A/S uses to perform continuous self-evaluation of the Bang & Olufsen webshop.
Beside continuous self-evaluation, Bang & Olufsen A/S has assigned an American accessibility company to conduct external assessments documented in a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template® (VPAT®) which evaluates the accessibility of a website according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 conformance level A/AA.
